Rianne Downey is a Scottish singer-songwriter.

Career

Downey was awarded the James McAvoy scholarship for the Royal Conservatoire in Glasgow when aged 16.[1]

She pursued a solo career by busking on the streets of Glasgow.[2]

Downey's debut single, Fuel to the Flame,[3] was released in February 2021 and received more than 3,000 streams on the first day.[4]

In 2023, Downey replaced Jacqui Abbott, who, due to a health scare, withdrew from a festival concert in Warrington [5] with Paul Heaton[6] and The Beautiful South.

Heaton and Downey continued to work together on Heaton's subsequent 2023 UK tour, including performing on the main stage at TRNSMT and Scarborough Open Air Theatre. [7]
