Rebecca Kassay is an American politician who has served in the New York State Assembly representing the 4th District since 2025. A Democrat, she represents part of Suffolk County.
Early life
Rebecca Kassay was born in Stony Brook, New York. She was raised in St. James.[1] Kassay earned a bachelor's degree from the State University of New York at New Paltz in 2010.[1]
Political career
Kassay previously served as deputy mayor of Port Jefferson.[2] She was elected a Village trustee in Port Jefferson in 2020.[3]
New York State Assembly
In the 2024 New York State Assembly election, she unseated Republican Ed Flood.[4]
